Domain expiry checks
How Pingerer reads your domain's renewal date and when it reminds you.
On this page
How it works
Once a day Pingerer looks up your domain's registration in the public registry using RDAP, the modern replacement for WHOIS, and reads its expiry date and registrar. The check runs on the main domain: shop.yourbakery.com is checked as yourbakery.com.
Reminders
You're reminded 30 and 7 days before the domain expires (change these on the monitor). The alert names the registrar, so you know where to log in.
When we can't read it
A few country-code registries don't publish expiry dates over RDAP, and registries are sometimes slow. When we can't get an answer, the result is marked inconclusive; that never sets off an alert on its own.
Tips
- Turn on auto-renew at your registrar and keep the card on file current.
- Make sure the registrar account's email address is one someone still reads.
- Renewing for several years at once is cheap insurance for an important domain.
