Status page custom domains
Put your status page on your own address with a CNAME and a TXT record.
On this page
Overview
Your status page can live at an address of your own, like status.yourbakery.com. You add two DNS records: a CNAME that points the address at Pingerer, and a TXT record that proves the domain is yours. Pingerer then issues an HTTPS certificate for it automatically.
Steps
- In the status page editor, open Custom domain and enter the address, for example
status.yourbakery.com. - At your DNS provider, add the two records the editor shows. They look like this:
Type Name Value CNAME statuspages.pingerer.comTXT _pingerer.statuspingerer-verify=…(your token) - Pingerer looks for the TXT record every 5 minutes. Click Check now to look right away.
- Once the TXT record is found, the domain is connected and a certificate is issued, usually within a few minutes. The page then answers on your address.
Good to know
- Use a subdomain. Most DNS providers don't allow a CNAME on the bare domain (
yourbakery.com). Usestatus.or similar, or your provider's ALIAS or "CNAME flattening". - Cloudflare users: set the CNAME to "DNS only" (grey cloud) so the certificate can be issued.
- Some providers add your domain to the name automatically; if so, enter just
statusand_pingerer.status. - If no matching TXT record is found within 7 days, verification stops. Click Check now to start again.
- A domain verified by one account can't be taken over by another. If you need to move one, contact support.
